Job Offers
So you finally landed the job you wanted. Congratulations! While some may be very experienced at evaluating job offers, there are others like us who are somewhat clueless at this stage. While some may be very excited at getting job offers, there are others who get very anxious at the thought of job offers.
Here are some tips and ideas about job offers that will help you remove some of those anxieties:
It is alright if you call the company prior to the job offer. Say, you are making a follow-up call about the interview you just had. But it is best to give the company ample time to evaluate your application. Ample time means at least a week after the interview. Or after the weekend is over. Never call them within twenty-four hours, as this only turns off the employer making you look too aggressive.
Evaluate the salary you might receive. While it is true that the salary is not the most important aspect of the job, it still plays a big role in whether to consider the job offer. You need to be able to pay the bills, have enough to have for savings and those things. It is good form to do a little background research on the average salary the position you are applying for gets.
